Lohagad Fort Trek - One Day Trek

Lohagad Fort means Iron fort in Marathi, situated close to the hill station of Lonavala Khandala and 52 km northwest of Pune, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033 meters or 3,389 feet above sea level. The Lohagad Killa is connected to the neighbouring Visapur Fort which is at its eastern side by a small range. The range divides the basins of the Indrayani River and Pavana River rivers. Lohagad Pune overlooks the Pawna lake, located to the south of the mountain. The hill extends to the northwest to a fortified spur, called Vinchu Kata Scorpion's tail because of its resembling shape. The four large gates of Lohagad are still in good condition and reasonably intact. The famous monsoon Sahyadri Fort is more massive than the twin fort Lohagad. Visapur Fort Lonavala at a higher altitude than Lohagad fort. Many caves, water tanks, old houses, arch, waterfalls, temples are on the Sahyadri Fort. There are two buildings which are roofless now,  are government offices from the past. Korigad (also called Koraigad, Koarigad, or Kumwarigad) is a hill fort located about 20 km south of Lonavla in the Pune district, Maharashtra, India. Its date of construction is not known but likely predates 1500. It is about 929 metres above sea level. The planned township of Aamby Valley is built over the fort's southern and eastern foothills. The closest village is Peth Shahpur, about 1 kilometer north of the fort. The fort is located about 929 metres (3,049 feet) above sea level, rising over 200 metres (660 feet) higher than the neighbouring valleys. To the east, there lie two artificial lakes, part of the Aamby Valley project, which later drain into the Mulshi reservoir. There are two lakes on the top of the fort. This fort can be visited at any time of the year. Even a night trek during the summer gives a nice experience. There are a lot of camping sites around the fort. There are three temples on the fort which provide ample cover. The Korai Devi temple can accommodate 25 people.

Torna Fort, also known as Prachandagad, is a large fort located in Pune district, in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

The Shiva Panth built this fort in the thirteenth century. Near the fort's entrance lies the Menghai Devi (Tornaji) temple. During Alauddin Khilji's reign in the late 1470s, Malik Ahmed conquered this fort.

Shivaji took this fort at age 16, making it the first Maratha fort. Shivaji renamed Prachandagad as Torna and added monuments and towers.

 Raigad Fort Trek

Raigad Fort is a magnificent hill fortress, situated in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It lies approximately 125 km away from Pune and serves as one of the major excursion of the city. The fort once served as the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji, the Great Maratha king, in 1674. It was around this time only that Shivaji was crowned the King of a Marathi kingdom. Perched at an altitude of 1350 m or 4530 feet above sea level, Raigarh fort falls under the Sahyadri Mountain range of India.

The main structures inside the Raigad Fort, which today stands mostly in ruins, comprise of Queen's Quarters, Public Durbar, Watch Towers, Darwaza or gateways, Water tanks, temples, etc. The Queen's Quarters consist of six chambers in toto, meant for the queen and her attendants. The central place situated inside the fort was constructed mainly out of wood. However, apart from its base, made up of pillars, hardly anything else remains. One can also be witness to the ruins of the three watchtowers, which were once used to spot any threat from a distance.
