About Tandulwadi fort:
 
Not much has been said about this fort. However it did have strategic importance over a period of time in the western region. Tandulwadi as a fort was originally designed and held by the Portuguese. Later was also taken over by Marathas. The last know owners of the fort were the British army. Thou we can get to this fort by walking 90 minutes from Saphale railways station to reach base village. We can also by public transport to save time.

How to get to Lonavala from Mumbai?
 
Participants from Mumbai suggested travel.
Board Indrayani Express from CST at 5.40 am and alight at Lonavala by 8am.
Preferably try to get into second last general compartment from CST end.

You can board Pune bound ST buses which don’t take Mega Highway and get down at Lonavala bus depot. You can also RESERVE your tickets till Lonavala for a more comfortable journey.

About:
Kalsubai is the highest peak of the Sahyadri, the Everest of Maharashtra. At the summit is a small temple of Kalsubai. This being the highest peak, it commands a beautiful view. To the north of the mountain range forts such as Ramsej, Harihargad, Brahmagiri, Anjaneri, Ghargad, Bahula, Tringalwadi, Kavnai can be seen. To the east one can spot Aundha, Vishramgad, Bitangad, to the west Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad (south west) and to the south Pabhargad, Ghanchakkar, Harishchandragad can be seen.

Inclusion: Travel from Mumbai (Dadar) railway station Bari village and back by ordinary private vehicle, 1 veg breakfast and 1 Lunch, 1 evening tea.
Exclusion: Emergency Medical evacuations if any required, Insurance and any item/event not mentioned in the inclusion list.

Haversack and Wind Cheater to keep hands free. Water Bottle 3 Litres. Personal medicines.
Camera (Optional). Please avoid wearing Gold and other jewellery (at own risk).
Electoral or Enerzyl Powder or Glucon D powder some snacks & biscuits. Good trekking shoes, Extra Pair of Clothes, Plastic bag to keep clothes dry.

About:
Karnala fort is a hill fort in Raigad district about 13 km from Panvel. Located in within the Karnala Bird Sanctuary. It was a fort of strategic importance. Redeemed with the power struggle of many rulers, Karnala Fort stands as a specimen of the 13th century constructions. The fort was sparingly used by the Karnala rulers including Mudhan and Peshwas until 1818, followed by the British.
