Start the day early with quick breakfast drive to Govindghat via Devprayag. Devprayag is the meeting place of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda River, from where the holy river Ganges start. Reach Govindghat/Pandukeshwar by evening. We begin the journey from Haridwar in a reserved jeep. No doubt, the panoramic view of the Himalayas is going to be enchanting for the next few days, but still you can have a last look at the plains of Rishikesh. We pass through the lush green mountains and deep down the slopes the Alaknandariver follows us all the way. We reach Govindghat by evening and halt for the night in a guest house and gear up for the next day. Check into the hotel to enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Trek from Govindghat / Pandukeshwar to Ghangaria

On a chilly morning we leave the comfort of Govindghat and trek to Ghangharia. Today post breakfast, we start our drive to Pulma which is the start point of our trek. Once we reach Pulna, we begin our gradual ascent along the pilgrim trail to Ghangaria. We begin our gradual ascent towards Ghangharia which is the base for VOF and Hemkund and Hemkund Sahib. As we climb up, the river Lakshman Ganga, flows down below and comes closer to the level at which it flows. After steep climb, reaching Ghangaria feels like an achievement. Ghangaria is our campsite to reach by evening to check into the hotel. Enjoy the dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ghangaria - Valley of Flowers - Ghangria (5 km one side/4-5 hrs):

Today post breakfast, we trek towards the Valley of Flowers (3858m) from Ghangaria. The valley is impressive with enchanting sight of rare wildflowers like Geranium, Marsh marigold, Prinula, Potentilla, Geum, Asters, Lilium, Ranunculus, Corydalis, Inula, Braham Kamal, Campanula, Pedicularis, Arisaema, Morina, Impatiens, Bistorta, Ligularia, Anaphalis, Saxifrages, Sibbaldia, Thermo- psis, Trollius, Codonopsis, Dactylorhiza, Cypripedium, Strawberry, Epilobium, Rhododendrons and numerous others. The lake is surrounded by wild flowers with Brahmkamal being the most popular. Pilgrims take a dip in the freezing cold waters of the lake, not an easy task. The hot tea served in the Gurudwara (shrine) is divine to say the least. We will also visit the Laxmanmandir next to the Gurudwara. As the time passes by, post afternoon we start our trek back to Ghangaria campsite for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 05: Trek from Ghangaria to Govindghat / Pandukeshwar
