    Trekking in Kasara

    Ratangad Trek

Ratan means Jewel in Hindi. This hill fort is the jewel in all the hill forts here in Sahyadri. It is located in the Ahmednagar district, about 4255 feet above sea level.

It lies in the Ajoba mountain range, surrounded by the great mountains of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba, and Ghanchakkar. Geographically Ratangad is at the banks of Bhandardara lake of Ahmednagar district.

With views of the lake and the highest mountains, Sahyadris looks lost in time. At the base of this fort is the ancient Lord Shiva Amruteshwar temple. About 1000 years old temple of Lord Shiva, the Amruteshwar Temple at Ratanwadi, is an absolute pinnacle of the high-class architecture of our ancestors.

    Harishchandragad Trek

Harishchandragad is one of the best high forts near Mumbai, Maharashtra. Strong fortifications of this fort have multiple entry routes such as the Junnar gate route, Sadhale ghat, Nalichi wat, and Indore Vaat.

The carvings on the temples of Nageshwar in Khireshwar village, in the Harishchandreshwar temple, and in the cave of Kedareshwar indicate that the fort belongs to the medieval period since it is related to

    Kalsubai Monsoon Trek 2023

Kalsubai, with a height of 1646 metres (5400 feet), is famous as one of the highest peaks in Maharashtra. Kalsubai lies in the Sahyadri mountain range. This being the highest peak, it commands a beautiful view. Since Kalsubai is extremely famous, enough effort has been made to make this trek easy. There are steel railings, chains, and ladders at places where it is difficult to climb.

    Kalsubai Monsoon Trek

During the monsoon, places are covered with fog, and the wind is very strong at Mount Kalsubai. Kalsubai Trekking Experience: There are three ladders that have been installed by locals to make the trekking route till Mount Kalsubai Shikhar easy. When you reach the carved steps and ladder from Bari Village, you will have covered 1/3 of the trek. After all the ladders are over, 2/3 of the trek is over. After a decent walk on the plateau, you will reach the final ladder to the Kalsubai summit.

    About Harihar Fort Nashik Trek

Harihar Fort appears to be rectangular from its base village. It is built on a triangular prism of rock. Its three faces and two edges are vertical at 90 degrees. The third edge towards the west is inclined at an angle of 75 degrees. A one-meter wide rocky staircase with niches in it is carved out for ascending and descending the Hari Har Gad Fort.

There are 117 steps in all. After you climb the first rocky staircase to the main entrance, we walk below an overhang with a sheer drop. Again, one has to climb a set of steep stairs with niches, then pass through a staircase inside the rock-like Peth Fort or Kothaligad Fort, and then reach the top of the Fort. The view from the top is excellent. After climbing these steps, we get up to the entrance door. The Fort Harihar Nashik has got a tapering plateau with a raised level in the middle. There is a small temple of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva on the plateau. A small pond is there in front of this temple. Water from this pond can be used for drinking.

Making headway from here, we come across a palace that has two rooms in it. 10 to 12 people can be accommodated in this palace. One of the vertical drops of Fort Harihar facing the Nirgudpada village is called "Scottish Kada", perhaps because it was climbed for the first time in November 1986 by Doug Scott, the legendary Himalayan mountaineer, and it took him two days to do the climb. This cliff is about 170 metres in height. Harihar fort images are available in our photo gallery.

The valley is surrounded by mighty Alang, Madan, and Kulang (Known as AMK- rated as the toughest trek in Sahyadri) Ratangad, Ajoba & Kalsubai 5400 ft. the highest peak in Maharashtra mountain ranges. The brilliant and deep narrow rock floored ravine is located between the two high walls of the mountain range. At some places, its width is less than 3 ft and at some places, sun rays are unable to reach the ground. Which gives it the name: valley of shadows.
