Bardia National Park is a secured forest area covering 969 kilometres located in Nepal. From the year 1815 to 1860, it was part of British India. The untouched park protects a significant area of the Sal forest and whispering grasslands. The whole atmosphere filled with tranquillity and serenity. As tourists do not overrun the park, you can have all the places to yourself to explore the most significant tiger national park in Nepal's Terai range. Under the Tiger conservation project, it became Royal Bardia National Park.

 

Royal Bardia National Park​ - Travel Itinerary

You must keep aside at least four to five days to thoroughly explore this beautiful natural wonder. The more time you spend here, the more calmness you will feel. 

Day One - Flight from Kathmandu Airpot to Nepalgunj, Arrival at Bardia National Park. Check into your hotel and spend a relaxing day. 

Day Two - Experience the Jungle Safari. Enjoy Full day Jungle walk. Elephant-back safari.

Day Three - Canoe Ride, We are exploring the Tiger territory, Exotic bird watching. Explore the Tharu Life and culture with a tour to Tharu Village. 

Day Four - Departure from Bardia National Park. Nepalgunj to Kathmandu Airport.

Wildlife and Birdwatching in Bardia National Park 

Bardia National Park is home to many endangered species. Bengal Tiger is the king of this park, and the efforts made by the authorities have increased the number of tiger populations. The place is also a habitat for one-horned rhinoceros and wild Asian elephants. During your trip, you will also get to see a crocodile, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, leopard, swamp deer, rhesus macaques, civets, sloth bears, grey langur monkeys, and Gangetic Dolphin. The park also shelters 23 species of reptiles and amphibians.

The National Park houses 550 species of birds, including many exotic ones. You will find Bengal florican, Sarus crane, pale-footed bush warbler, golden-headed cisticola, white-rumped vulture, striated grassbird, peafowl, bar-headed geese, Grey-crowned Prinia, jungle Prinia, aberrant bush warbler, and chestnut-capped babbler. Rafting down the Karnali river allows you to spot the gharial crocodile, exotic birds, dolphins, and water birds in their natural habitat.

Best time to visit Far West Nepal and Bardia September to December is the most suitable time to tour Bardia. You can also plan your trip between February through May to Bardia and far-west Nepal.
