Kaas Plateau Tour 2023 and Thoseghar Waterfall

Kaas Plateau is famously called the Maharashtra Valley of Flowers. Kaas plateau in Satara is an eco-sensitive place; you can see the carpet of flowers after the monsoon ends. During the monsoon, Kas Pathar flower valley receives hefty rainfall; you can see different flowers throughout the year. Kaas Plateau has become famous for the various shades of carpet and the tiny flowers that grow on the Kas Pathar Satara. In June 2012, UNESCO announced the Kaas Plateau as a Biodiversity World Heritage Site.

One particular Satara Flower Aponogeton satarensis, or Waytura flower, can only be found on the Kaas Maharashtra Plateau and is now listed as an endangered species. Kaas Plateau supports 175 species of wildflowers. During our tour, we will see flowers that blossom after the monsoon. Kas Maharashtra Pathar is home to many birds, butterflies, reptiles, and wild animals.

The best time to visit Kaas Plateau in 2023 is just after the end of the monsoon in September and October. Once every eight years, Karvi Flowers bloom into mass flowering, covering the entire Kaas Maharashtra Plateau in shades of purple, blue, and Pink. Thoseghar Waterfall

Thoseghar Waterfalls get their name from the small village of Thoseghar, located 20 km from Satara. We will pass Sajjangad Fort and windmills to reach the scenic Thoseghar Waterfalls. Satara is famous for many waterfalls, like Vajrai Waterfall, the second-highest plunge waterfall in India, and Kelavali Waterfall. Chalkewadi is an amazing hamlet with many windmills dotting the landscape.

Thoseghar offers spectacular views, with a series of waterfalls converging and one waterfall reaching 200 metres in height. On a Rainy day, Thoseghar Waterfall is covered in fog, and the nearby Chalkewadi Plateau, famous for windmill electricity projects, is not visible. The best time to visit Thoseghar Waterfall is from July to November or on a Rainy day.

Thoseghar is a very calm and relaxing place, with rice fields and lush green forests with small streams.

Kalu Waterfall Trek

The Kalu river is the origin of the magnificent Kalu Waterfalls. If you don’t know already, Kalu Waterfalls is one of the largest waterfalls in Maharashtra and the largest in the Malshej region. The Kalu Waterfall plunges from a massive height of 1200 feet and is a five-layer cascade. We will only be at a distance of kilometers and a half from this gargantuan waterfall. Besides the Kalu Waterfall, you'll also get to see another spectacular waterfall to the right, concealed in a gorge. These marvelous forest trails offer spellbinding views of Harishchandragad, Rohidas, Bhairavgad, Kombada, and Thidbi.

Devkund Waterfall Trek from Mumbai

Devkund waterfall, also known as the "Bathing Pond of Gods," is a mystical waterfall with great mythological importance and is regarded as sacred by the villagers. Discovered in an area that boasts beautiful treks like Tamhini Ghats, Andharban Jungle Trek, and Bedgaon Waterfall, and Sudhagad Fort, Devkund Waterfall is a must-visit destination for adventure enthusiasts.
Devkund Waterfall Tamhini Ghat's major landmark is the hydroelectric power plant of Bhira Dam, owned by Tata Power Company Ltd in 1927. It is also known as the Mulshi Dam or Tata power Dam near the Bhira village source of the Kolad River rafting Rawalje or Kundalika River. ATM and Petrol pump are available before the town. Ample parking is available in the village, and parking fees are applicable. If you are into adventure sports, this is one of the best treks in Maharashtra.
