With the magnificent Pench River flowing through different flora and fauna found in the rock-strewn landscapes, Pench National Park is one of the most famous national parks in India. The tranquil backdrop of affluent woody jungles with the occasional sighting of wild animals makes this park just the right traveller’s place. Beyond 1300 plant varieties are found there, and most of which involve some of the dying out vegetations. As the river flow in the centre of the park, Visitors get to see a serene atmosphere which leaves a lasting impression on their minds.

At the outset in 1977, Pench looked upon as a sanctuary, but it turned out to be a National Park in 1983. And after that, it’s set up as a tiger reserve in 1992. And it is also a fact that this park is the location for Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book, and therefore it is time and again referred to as Mowgli territory.

Pench National Park Itinerary

Day One: You’ll be picked up from Nagpur in the morning and taken to your destination in a private car. After reaching the hotel by 1:00 pm and checking in the hotel, you can have a rest for some time. Then have your lunch and get ready for the first Wildlife Safari. In the evening, get back to the hotel and the day will end with dinner.

Day Two: Next morning, after eating breakfast, you’ll leave for the second Wildlife Safari. To save time for the safari, you can take breakfast along. After enjoying safari get back to the hotel for lunch and after a small break leave for third Wildlife Safari. With the sunset, you’ll return to the hotel, have dinner, and go to bed.

Day Three: Get up with the sun up, have breakfast and then checkout. Now, you’ll leave for Nagpur airport/railway station in a private car.

Flora of the Pench National Park

Pench National Park has a wealth of flora and fauna. It is, of course, home to densely wooded regions of Chhindwara and Seoni districts of Madhya Pradesh. This national park also comes with a naturally sacred environment and luxuriant vegetation. Not merely this, also enclosed by the Pench River and is hugely famous for boasting flora of remarkable medical value. As there is usually heavy rainfall in the area, stunning Sal trees witnessed throughout the park. Also, it is good to be aware that the leaves of Sal are good quality food, while the fruits are rich in nutritional value. 

 

Fauna of the Pench National Park

The Pench National Park has a vast array of attractive animals such as Bison, Cheetal, Sambar, Wild Dog. Other animals this park accommodates predators such as Leopard and Wolf, whereas visitors can also spot species like Barking Deer, Hyena, Porcupine, Palm Civet, and many others. When it comes to the birds in the park, the variety that beautifies the park’s interiors includes Malabar Pied Hornbill, White-eyed Buzzard, Grey-headed Fishing Eagle, and Indian Pitta. Also, over 50 species of fishes, 30 reptiles, and different varieties of butterflies can found there.

 

Pench Tiger Safari 

In general, the Pench National Park remains open for tourists from 1st October to 30th June every year, and throughout the rainy season, it remains close. Here, November to February considered as the best time to come. If we talk about the entry fee to the park, it is INR 15 for Indians and INR 150 for foreigners. And you can go there in two shifts like from 6 am to 11 am, and from 3 PM to 6 PM. Open jeep Jungle Safari has taken in both variations. You can also consider taking a remarkable boat safari to travel around Pench and the nearby areas to a stretch of 17 km.

 

Best Time to Visit Pench Safari 

This giant park is an impressive beauty all year round, though you can best experience it experienced between November and June as during these months you can frequently spot a large variety of animals and birds there. Also, April to June is a recommended time to witness different animals as they move out in the hunt for water more often. Furthermore, the climate is nicely cool, but the nights may get a little colder in January and February. More than a few regions of the park are open to tourists merely from October to June.
