Kareri Lake Trek is situated at a height of around 2,950 meters in the Kangra area of Himachal Pradesh. It is a suitable weekend escape if you want to switch off from your daily routine and get close to nature.

Kareri Lake is encompassed by mountains and elevated trees. It is framed by the progression of the water bodies from the Minkiani top. The trek to Kareri Lake Trek is one of the most beautiful high treks in Himachal Pradesh that passes between few spouting streams and green meadows. You will go over aesthetic shepherd towns that have their very own appeal. Different attractions are the Lord Shiva temple which is worth a visit. The trail to Kareri Lake Trek will intrigue you in case you're keen on bird watching as there are different types of winged creatures to pay special mind to. Make sure you have your cameras ready. Leave from Delhi by 08:00 PM

Day 1

Arrive at McLeod Ganj  - Trek to Kareri Village - Overnight in camps at Kareri Village.

Day 2

Arrive at Lioti & from there to Kareri Lake - Overnight in camps by the lakeside.

Day 3

Trek Down to Ghera - Drive from Ghera to McLeod Ganj – Departure.

Day 4

Arrive at Delhi early morning.


Long Itinerary 


Day 1: Arrive at McLeod Ganj  - Trek to Kareri Village - Overnight in camps at Kareri Village.

Begin from Delhi by 08:00 PM on Day 0. You will arrive in McLeod Ganj by morning. Reach McLeod Ganj from Ghera by drive. Arrive at Kareri village by trekking from Ghera. The first phase of Kareri Lake trek  is a hike upto your camp at Kareri village. The trek will take you through pine forests & picturesque views & you will pass through various villages as you climb hills & trek down mountains. Check in to the camps by evening and have dinner. Overnight at camps.


Day 2: Arrive at Lioti & from there to Kareri Lake - Overnight in camps by lakeside.

Get up early in the morning & post a scrumptious breakfast start your trek further to Kareri Village. Cross Liund River and Lioti while trekking to Kareri Village. Proceed with the trek till we arrive at the lakeside, appreciate and revere its divine excellence and settle down. 

After dinner rest at campsite just under the sky studded with stars and snowcapped mountains all around.


Day 3: Trek down till Ghera & from there drive to McLeod Ganj – Departure.


Wake up with a delightful sunrise from the snowcapped Dhauladhar range and make the most of your morning breakfast adjacent to the lake. Start trekking down till Ghera. Head back to McLeod Ganj.  Head back to Delhi by evening.


Day 4: Arrive at Delhi early morning


Arrive at Delhi following day morning by 08:00 AM(tentatively) & end this trip with lots of amazing memories to cherish for a lifetime.
